This Christmas, What Truly Matters for Eternity?

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Gift who brought light, hope, and salvation, one timeless question gently calls our attention:

“Is your name in the Book of Life?”

Christmas reminds us that God stepped into our world so we could step into eternity with Him. Beyond the joy, laughter, and celebration lies a deeper reflection: life is brief, eternity is sure, and our hope must go beyond this world.

Scripture says:
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”
—1 Corinthians 15:19

One day, we will all stand before God, and the only thing that will matter is whether our name is written in the Book of Life.

A Day of Judgment Is Coming

One day, you will stand before the throne of God.
The books will be opened.
Your life will be reviewed, not by human standards, but by divine truth.

And on that day, only one thing will matter:
Is your name written in the Book of Life?

A True-Life Story: When a Name Was Missing

A man once sent his son to a university for a four-year program. After graduation, he bought the brochure to see his son’s result.

He checked the First Class Honours list — the name wasn’t there.
He checked the Second Class Upper — still nothing.
He moved to the Second Class Lower — no trace.
Finally, he searched the Pass List, the very last category.
To his shock and heartbreak, his son’s name was missing completely.

Confusion. Shame. Anger. Pain.
Then realization:
“My son’s name is not in the list.”

Imagine that moment.
Now imagine a moment far more serious — standing before the angel of life and death, and hearing the words:

“Your name is not in the Book of Life.”

No appeal.
No negotiation.
Just eternal separation.

Scripture warns:

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”Revelation 20:15

Would you honestly want this for yourself?

Eternity Is Real – And the Time to Prepare Is Now

When judgment comes, repentance will no longer be possible.
Tongues, gifts, emotions, excuses — none will matter.

But right now, you still have a chance.

The Bible says:

“Now is the day of salvation.”2 Corinthians 6:2

Don Moen sang it beautifully in “The Revelation”:
“When all is said and done…”
Beauty fades. Strength fails.
The soul returns to its Maker.
